Across the world there are a huge range of farm machinery manufacturers in an industry with annual revenue of over $100 billion. There are a number of companies which dominate the market, with the majority of units being supplied to China, the United States and Europe.

In 1999, New Holland N.V. and Case corporation merged to form CNH Global with the strong farm machinery brands Case IH, New Holland Ag and Stehr. CNH Global distributes a large range of agricultural equipment across 170 countries worldwide, and is particularly well supported in the United States and Canada.

The best known Chinese manufacturers of agricultural machinery are the YTO Group, the leading manufacturer of farm and construction equipment in China and the Shifeng Group who supply farm machinery like tractors and also light vehicles.

The well known brand Caterpillar specialises in construction and mining equipment but also produces agricultural machinery and can be found on many farms, particularly across North America.

All of these companies battle it out for their stake in the global market, but due to the longevity of all of these brands, they are very much entrenched in the local culture which they service.
